I'm truly astonished that they seem to be completely oblivious of the criticism we're making of them on the right: they're out of touch, they're self-indulgent, they're hypocrites.
No one on the left is grappling with these allegations AT ALL. It's like they've just decided to ignore a chorus of 50 million people, shouting and waving their arms at them. "Trans right are human rights... My body, my choice... " the mesmerized zombies chant, ignorant to the world around them. Wild stuff.
It's like some other type of spirit (literal, metaphorical, mental, spiritual, or otherwise, but I see them all, in the vein of Dostoevsky, as the same thing) has possessed them all.
I do worry a little bit about the same thing happening to the right... But in a way it already has. We're all hit with the mimetic/spiritual/mental wind gusts, or hurricanes, and it affects us all.
After the most recent book I just read, "The Spirit of Vatican II" this realization hit me clearer than it ever did before. A spiritual/mental contagion hits everyone in its time to some degree or another. Even those who resist it and aren't blown away by it, are bowed over or at the very least, have their clothes ruffled.
